In Colonial America blacksmiths used forge & anvil, hammer & tongs to make agricultural tools for farmers and homemakers tools and hardware for their homes. Blacksmith's cast, bent, welded, and riveted fireplace racks, andirons, pothooks, locks, cooking utensils, hinges, and decorative wrought iron. Silver Light Editions has recreated this classic tradition with the manufacture of a line of beautiful rustic iron hardware for cabinets, passage doors, and decoration. This hardware is hand-made one-at-a-time in a small forge in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Our cabinet hardware is the starting place for HammeredHinges.com and our most important product. We use this same hardware on a regular basis on Silver Light Editions vanities and kitchens. As with all our HammeredHinges product, each piece of hardware is unique because of the heat & hammer forged manufacturing process and may differ in slightly in size. Of course that is what makes it so unique and visually interesting! We would also note that because each piece of hardware is different the installation of our hinges may take a little longer than normal. Screws are sold separately.
